The wonderful annual Royal Welsh show returns this Monday at Builth Wells in Powys. It is always a fun day out and I have fond memories of being their with my family enjoying all that the show has to offer. Directory maker Aquila Cook of Love and Lovelier is attending this year for the first time with her fabulous range of ceramics.
I caught up with Aquila to find out how her preparation is going and what she is looking forward to on her debut at this big event...
Why did you decide to go?
I decided to get a stall there because my plan for 2018 was to break out of my comfort zone with Love & Lovelier. I've been plodding along for seven years and I thought it's time to start doing some bigger fairs and they don't come much bigger than the Royal Welsh...
What are you looking forward to?
I'm looking forward to the atmosphere, and of course meeting lots of new people. I also love the camaraderie with other stall holders at events. I always learn loads, and come away with new ideas and projects.
How hard is it to prepare for such a high footfall event?
The dreaded prep! How much to take?! I have had a five week plan to make lots of stock. I had a similar sized stall at the RHS Flower Show in Cardiff earlier in the year, which I used as a bit of a practice run.
Do you know where you will be at the show?
Yes, I will be in the South Glamorgan Hall, which is where most of the craft stands are. Come visit me!
Good luck Aquila! I am sure you will have an amazing time.
The Royal Welsh shows runs from Monday 23rd until Thursday 26th July. For ticket info, visit the RWS page.
